ABOUT THE BOOK

WALKING IN THE FOG

Walking in the FOG serves as a reminder that life is hard, but that God uses our pain and our obedience to His Word to bring about His purpose and His plan for our lives.  You can choose to walk in the favor of God knowing that He guides your footsteps, or you can simply walk in a fog without clearly seeing your way—the choice is yours.

Maybe you’ve struggled with your identity in Christ and would like to know how to overcome the issues and the pains of the past.  The answer to this question can be found by reading Walking in the FOG. This book doesn’t shy away from things that often hold us back from experiencing all God has for us, but shows the readers how they can take control of their thoughts, emotions, and voices to usher in God’s unmerited favor and grace.

ABOUT BARBARA

Barbara is the second oldest of five children born to Bishop Qullias Mitchell Jr. and Pastor Denise Mitchell.  She was born in Fort Eustis, Virginia, and graduated high school in 1989 from Woodrow Wilson High School located in Youngstown, Ohio.  Barbara would go on join the United States Army and became and Army Sergeant.  Her military career was cut short due to being diagnosed with a brain tumor; subsequently, she was medically retired.  Not one to let her circumstances define how she lives out her life, Barbara decided to go to college to become an educator.  Her educational background includes the following degrees: Bachelor and Master of Science in Education (Secondary English Language Arts), Master of Science in Education (Instructional Leadership and Administration), and Educational Specialist (Instructional Leadership and Administration) all earned from Troy University.

Barbara taught 10th grade English for eight years at Enterprise High School in Enterprise, AL.  She would go on to become an Assistant Principal for two years at both Grandview and Kelly Springs Elementary School in Dothan, Al.  Presently, she is the Director of Adult Education at Wallace Community College in Dothan, Al.  Affectionately known as Momma Steger to her former students, Barbara is an encourager at heart.  She gives sound biblical and practical advice to help others break barriers that are impeding their growth.  Sensing a call to help others, Barbara would complete the certification process to become a John C. Maxwell certified speaker, trainer, mentor, and coach.

Barbara uses godly wisdom and spiritual insight to help her connect with people authentically to push them to excel in their goals—whether it be academic, spiritual, relationship, or career-related.  It is her desire to see everyone walk in their God-given purpose and to walk in it with confidence and authority.  She shows people that they can break barriers and become who God created them to be!
